First Day In Kampala

On our first day we ventured out into Kampala a little.  Driving is a bit different, of course they drive on the left here, roads are not in the best conditions, and you have motorcycles (often with 2, 3, or 4 people on them!) weaving in and out of traffic.

Along the roadside we saw a large produce market

 

We went to large shopping complex called Garden City which was a lot of fun.  There were, however, guards with large guns randomly throughout the area, so that was a little different. We also stopped at a big supermarket to get groceries for the week.  It was interesting to see what they have here, but all in all, that wasn't too different.

And here are my accommodations for the next 4 weeks... Kelly has the same setup about 2 inches from mine...
